1998 Turkey Trot 5k Is A Hit! The 1998 version of the Turkey Trot 5k, held on the Pennsylvania State University campus Thanksgiving morning, was a fun and well-attended race. Runners came from far and wide, as well as locally, including from places such as Colorado, Michigan and North Carolina! 58 runners participated on a very windy morning, traversing the "four hills" course from the Flower Gardens to the National Guard Armory and back. I want to say thank you to Dana Arvan of T's Custom Printing for cutting us a great deal on the t-shirts that each runner received and the Awards Center for the age category medals. I especially want to thank those who volunteered their time and efforts to making the morning a huge success: Amy Paster, Heather Moberly, Eric Riddle, Cindy Ingold, Mike Dooris, Harry Groves, Dave Eggler for bringing and setting up the Club's clock, Bob Crowe and Marvin Hall. A special thank you goes to Jenny Litz, Race Director for the previous few Turkey Trot 5ks for mentoring me through the process and continuous moral support!
